Privacy Policy

In short: Quillo reads your products to write descriptions for them, sends only the product details needed to an AI provider to generate the text, stores the drafts so you can review them, and changes nothing on your store until you click Apply. It never touches customer or order data, never sees your payment details, and deletes your data when you uninstall.
Quillo: Bulk Descriptions (“Quillo”, “we”, “us”) is a Shopify app that generates product descriptions in bulk inside your Shopify admin. This policy explains what information Quillo collects when you install and use it, how that information is used, who it is shared with, and how to have it deleted.
Information Quillo collects
- Store information — your myshopify domain and the access token Shopify issues to the app, so Quillo can read and update products on your behalf.
- Product data — product titles, vendor, product type, tags, variant names and prices, status, featured image URL, and the existing product description, read from your store to display the product list and to generate descriptions.
- Generated drafts — the descriptions Quillo writes for you, any edits you make to them, and their status (ready, applied, failed), stored so you can review them, come back later, and see your generation history.
- Writing preferences — the tone, length, language and instructions you choose, saved as your store's defaults if you ask.
- Usage data — a count of descriptions generated per month, used to enforce the limits of your plan.
- Subscription status — which plan you are on, read live from Shopify. Quillo does not store payment details.
Quillo does not collect customer information, order data, analytics, or browsing data, and it does not use cookies or tracking scripts beyond what Shopify's embedded-app framework requires to run the app inside your admin.
How Quillo uses this information
- To show your products in the app so you can choose which ones to write descriptions for.
- To generate product descriptions in the tone, length and language you choose.
- To show each draft next to the current description so you can review, edit, regenerate or discard it. Nothing is changed on your store until you click Apply.
- To write the descriptions you approve to the product's description field — and nothing else. Quillo never edits titles, prices, images, SEO fields, inventory, customers or orders.
- To keep a history of your batches and to enforce the limits of your billing plan.

Quillo does not sell your data and does not share it with anyone beyond what is listed above.
Data retention and deletion
Data is kept for as long as Quillo is installed on your store. Uninstalling Quillo automatically and permanently deletes your store record, access tokens, saved preferences, usage counts, and all generated drafts and history. Descriptions you have already applied remain on your products, because they are part of your store's own data. You can also request deletion at any time using the contact details below, and we will complete it within 30 days.
Quillo honours Shopify's mandatory data-request, customer-redaction and shop-redaction webhooks. Because Quillo does not collect customer data, customer requests result in a confirmation that no data is held.
Your rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
Children's privacy
Quillo is a business tool for Shopify merchants and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will also be announced inside the app.
